Review – The Mule

The Mule, directed by Clint Eastwood, is an awkward, confusing experience that somewhere beyond the uncomfortable scenes and odd directorial decisions in a somewhat charming little film that I think I enjoyed. Genuinely, I am going to struggle with this review, because even at this very moment, having had a decent amount of time to try to evaluate what exactly I sat through, I’m still conflicted and confused as to what The Mule was supposed to be and some of the decisions that made it into the film. So, join me on this journey, as I try to figure out what it was, I watched and if it was any good. Read more

Review – Ant-Man and the Wasp

Ant-Man and the Wasp, directed by Peyton Reed, is the epitome of a plain Marvel movie. This film comes packaged with all the issues that plague the majority of MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) films, only the other films usually have a handful of qualities that still make them memorable or entertaining, whereas Ant-Man and the Wasp has nothing. At the time of writing this review, a short time has passed since I saw the film and I’m already struggling to remember things that I could then talk about in this review. I’m tempted to play into the whole tiny aspect of Ant-Man and make this review small in length – that way I don’t have to try to write about it, but that seems cheap. Well, let’s try and see if there’s anything worth talking about, shall we. Read more

Review – John Wick: Chapter 2

john-wick-chapter-2

John Wick: Chapter 2, directed by Chad Stahelski, takes what was a film that understood itself, and knew how to overcome the tropes of the genre, and unfortunately relies on what it once had overcome. This film still boasts the unrivalled action (in western cinema) that the previous had, and the work and time that goes into it cannot be overlooked. I still found much enjoyment in the film, but it doesn’t fully capitalise on what the first film set out with. This will be a mixed review; some good and some bad, so let’s get to it and see what works and what really doesn’t work in, John Wick: Chapter 2. Read more

Review – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice

Batman v Superman: Dawn of justice, directed by Zack Snyder is a film that doesn’t learn from its past mistakes. Over-bloated and unnecessarily convoluted, this is a film that starts off strong, and then quickly loses its way. Even with strong characters, Batman v Superman is a film that almost seems to make an effort to ignore the rich characters/actors at its disposal, and instead focuses on things that are very much not necessary. The TV Shows That I Think Deserve Your Attention From 2015

2015 has delivered another great year of television. There have been shows that have hooked me from the beginning, shows that took their time to get going but as a whole were great and then there are the shows that returned for new seasons and ended up breaking me emotionally (for one reason or another). Despite some of the usual drivel that makes its way onto television, I have been as entrenched as ever with its offerings.

So the point of this piece is for me to share what I feel are some of the best TV shows of 2015. I want to share what makes these shows so special and why I love them so much and also I want to give you a little nugget of information on them thus hopefully meaning you’ll give them some time and support.

One of the last things I’ll say for diving into the list of shows is that while these are my favourite shows of 2015 I’m not saying that these are better than anything else out there. 1: it’s all subjective and 2: I couldn’t possibly be caught up on every show deemed to be the best, so please keep that in mind. Oh, I’ll also add that these are in no particular order as I won’t to mix them up and give every show their fair due. I should also add that despite me talking about shows that are 2 or 3 seasons deep there will be No Spoilers because that wouldn’t really make sense now would it? Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you enjoy what I have to say. Read more
